Constitution of a Committee for formulation of All Industry Rates of Duty Drawback, 2005-2006 - Regarding - Customs - F. No. 609/9/2005-DBKExtract Letter F. No. 609/9/2005-DBK Dated 9-3-2005 Government of India Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) Central Board of Excise Customs, New Delhi Subject : Constitution of a Committee for formulation of All Industry Rates of Duty Drawback, 2005-2006 - Regarding. In supersession of Ministry's Order F. No. 609/9/2005-DBK, dated 28th February, the Central Government (Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue) hereby reconstitutes the Committee for the purpose of formulation of All Industry Rates of Duty Drawback for 2005-2006. The Terms of Reference of the Committee are as follows : Terms of Reference : (i) To interact with the Administrative Ministries, Export Promotion Councils, Commodity Boards, trade bodies and other stake holders so as to elicit their views on the existing Duty Drawback Scheme (All Industry Rate). (ii) To work out the modalities for calculation of duty drawback and suggest All Industry Rates of Duty Drawback for 2005-2006 for the existing items as also for new items as may be suggested by the stake holders. 3. The composition of the Committee shall be as under : 1. Shri Saumitra Chaudhuri, Member, Economic Advisory Council to Prime Minister Chairman 2. Shri. S.B. Mohapatra, Secretary to the Government of India (Retired) Member 3. Shri T.R. Rustagi, Chief Commissioner of Customs Central Excise (Retired) Member The said Committee shall have the Joint Secretary (Drawback) as the Secretary and shall be serviced by the Drawback Division, Department of Revenue. 4. The Committee shall - · decide the modalities of holding deliberations and meetings with the stake holders; · conduct field visits to study specific production processes as it may consider necessary for formulation of All Industry Rates of Duty Drawback; · work out the methodology for calculation of All Industry Rates of Duty Drawback and suggest rates on the basis of changes made in the Budget 2005-2006; · submit its report on the 'Terms of Reference' by 15th April, 2005 to the Secretary, Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, New Delhi. 5. The non-official members of the Committee shall be entitled to TA/DA as applicable to Group-'A' officers of equivalent status. The members are also entitled to a sitting fee of Rs. 1000/- per member per sitting. All expenses incidental to the functioning of the Committee including office expenses shall be met from the Budget of the Department of Revenue - Grant No. 42. 6. This issues with concurrence of JS/FA(Fin) vide Dy. No. 1229/FA(F)/05, dated 26-2-2005.
