Error record of refund -regarding - Income Tax - 23

OLTAS INSTRUCTION NO.23 F. No. SW/07/01/05/02/DIT(S)/ Dated: 22.03.06 Subject: Error record of refund -regarding- Sir/Madam, It has been brought to the notice of this Directorate that banks are making errors while entering the refund data and transmitting it to TIN. 2. In order to correct the errors, record structure has been prescribed by the Directorate in which the banks will correct the errors. Banks can modify the following fields : (i) Refund sequence number; (ii) Major Head code; (iii) PAN; (iv) Name; (v) Amount (vi) Assessment Year 3. It has also been brought to the notice of this Directorate that AO codes are not being populated in the oltas refund data. 4. In order to resolve these problems you are requested to instruct the concerned person of your computer centre to follow steps which are furnished below: (a) Take two sets of full backup; (b) Down load and execute the following patches (no user should be logged in at that time) from 28.91.16.155 (directory /home/oth/exe/oltas_inst_23 userid/password: oth/tin#oth) OLTS1R24.fmx. (c) Download the other fmx, rep available in the above directory and copy into the file server. Files with same name must be renamed/backed up. 5. In addition to this, the CIN (Challan Identification Number) has also been added in the query of ts_clean_challan by Supervisor of the Computer centre. 6. It is requested to give feedback latest by 10 th April 2006 whether the OLTAS Instruction No. 23 has been implemented or not. This Instruction has to be implemented by all computer centres.
