Monetary limit for appeals. - Income Tax - 1612/CBDT

INSTRUCTION NO. 1612/CBDT Dated: April 6, 1985 Reference is invited to para 4 of Board's Instruction No.1328 5th April, 1980 (F.No.279/49/80-ITJ) wherein a monetary limit of Rs.5,000 for Income-tax and Rs. 2,000 for other taxes has been laid down for filing Departmental appeals before the Appellate Tribunal. The Board has since reconsidered the matter. It is now decided that the monetary limit for Departmental appeals before Appellate Tribunal will be Rs.10,000 for Income-tax and Rs.5,000 for other taxes.
