Foreign collaboration approvals. - Income Tax - 1636/CBDT

INSTRUCTION NO. 1636/CBDT Dated: June 28, 1985 Provisions contained in sections 9(1)(vi), 9(1)(vii),10(6A) and 115 A of the I.T. Act, 1961 refer to approval of collaboration agreements by the Central Government. For the purposes of the aforesaid provisions it is clarified that the foreign collaboration approvals issued by the Secretariat for Industrial Approvals (SIA) in the department of Industrial Development or as the case may be by the concerned Ministry/Department of central Government would be treated as approvals by the central Government. This may be brought to the notice of all the officers in your charge.
