Disposal & pendency of appeals before Comm(A). - Income Tax - 1637/CBDT

INSTRUCTION NO. 1637/CBDT Dated: July 12, 1985 Review of telegraphic information regarding disposal and pendency of appeals before Commissioners(Appeals) for the month of March 1985 circulated by DI(IT)-F.No 36/28/12/84/DIT dated 14-4-85 indicates that out of the total pendency of 78004 appeals 8685 appeals were filed upto March 1982. The pendency includes 5505 High Demand appeals out which 3504 were pending for more than 3 months. These old appeals and the High Demand appeals should be disposed of by 30th September 1985. You may please send to me list of the old appeals and the High Demand Appeals pending with you as on 1st July, 1985 and your Action Plan in regard to disposal of these appeals by the end of September 1985.
