Types of Rules of Origin 3.1 Preferential Rules of Origin: Used to implement trade preferences. 3.2 Non-Preferential Rules of Origin: Used for Most Favored Nation treatment, antidumping and countervailing duties, safeguard measures, origin marking requirements and any discriminatory quantitative restrictions or tariff quotas, as well as those used for trade statistics and government procurement.
