To set up a sector specific Special Economic Zone for Information Technology/Information Technology enabled services at Nellikode and Pandeerakavu Villages, Kozhikode District, in the State of Kerala - S.O. 1222(E) - Special Economic Zone

MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (Department of Commerce) NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 14th May, 2013 S.O. 1222(E).- Whereas M/s. Kerala State Information Technology Infrastructure Limited has proposed under Section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005) hereinafter referred to as the Act, to set up a sector specific Special Economic Zone for Information Technology/Information Technology enabled services at Nellikode and Pandeerakavu Villages, Kozhikode District, in the State of Kerala. And whereas the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 4 of the Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006 , has notified the total area of 10.1210 hectares at Nellikode and Pandeerakavu Villages, Kozhikode District, in the State of Kerala as Special Economic Zone in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Notification S.O. 1217 (E), dated 27 th May, 2011 ; And whereas M/s. Kerala State Information Technology Infrastructure Limited has now proposed to include an additional area of 1.5637 hectares to the above Special Economic Zone and the Central Government after considering the said proposal approved and conveyed it on 12th February, 2013. Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by second proviso to sub-section (1) of Section 4 of the Special Economic Zone Act, 2005 and in pursuance of rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006 , the Central Government hereby notifies an additional area of 1.5637 hectares as part of the Special Economic Zone, thereby making total area of the Special Economic Zone as 11.6847 hectares, comprising the Survey numbers and the area given in the Table below, namely :- TABLE Sl.
