Rescinds the sector specific Special Economic Zone for Handicraft SEZ at Boranada, Jodhpur, in the State of Rajasthan - S.O. 1229(E) - Special Economic Zone

MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (Department of Commerce) NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 7th May, 2014 S.O. 1229(E).- Whereas, M/s. Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO) Limited, had proposed under Para 7.20 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2002-2007 (as amended upto 31.03.2003) to set up a sector specific Special Economic Zone for Handicraft SEZ at Boranada, Jodhpur, in the State of Rajasthan; And, whereas, the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992 (No. 22 of 1992) , had notified an area of 452.00 Rakhba (Bigha-Biswa) vide Ministry of Commerce and Industry Notification Number S. O. 1029 (E), dated 8th September, 2003 ; And, whereas, M/s. Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO) Limited has proposed to de-notify the entire area of 452.00 Rakhba (Bigha-Biswa) of the above Special Economic Zone and the Central Government has granted approval for de-notification of above area on 8th November, 2013; And, whereas, the State Government of Rajasthan has given its No Objection to the proposal vide letter No. F.4(1)/Ind./Gr.1/2005, dated 6th February, 2014; And, whereas, the Development Commissioner, Noida Special Economic Zone has recommended the proposal for de-notification of the entire area of' 452.00 Rakhba (Bigha-Biswa) of the Special Economic Zone; Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by first proviso to rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006 , the Central Government hereby rescinds the above notification except as respects things done or omitted to be done before such rescission.
