De-notifies an area of 03.25.29 hectares - sector specific Special Economic Zone for Information Technology and Information Technology Enabled Services at village Attipra, Taluk and District Thiruvananthapuram in the State of Kerala - S.O. 9(E) - Special Economic Zone

MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (Department of Commerce) NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 28th December, 2015 S.O. 9(E).- Whereas, M/s Electronics Technology Parks- Kerala (TECHNOPARK), had proposed under Section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005), (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), to set up a sector specific Special Economic Zone for Information Technology and Information Technology Enabled Services at village Attipra, Taluk and District Thiruvananthapuram in the State of Kerala; And, whereas, the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 4 of the said Act read with Rule 8 of the Special Economic Zone Rules, 2006 , had notified the areas of 11.87.65 and 10.83.17 hectares at above Special Economic Zone vide Ministry of Commerce and Industry Notification numbers S.O. 2955 (E) , 763 (E) dated 19th November, 2009 and 12th March, 2015; And, whereas, M/s Electronics Technology Parks- Kerala (TECHNOPARK) has now proposed to denotify an area of 03.25.29 hectares at the above Special Economic Zone. And, whereas, the State Government of Kerala has given its No Objection to the proposal vide letter No. 145/PA//2015/Prl Secy (Inds. IT), dated 19th June, 2015; And, whereas, the Development Commissioner, Cochin Special Economic Zone has recommended the proposal for de-notification of an area of 03.25.29 hectares of the Special Economic Zone; Now, whereas, the Central Government is satisfied that the requirements under sub-section (8) of section 3 of the said Act and other related requirements are fulfilled; Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by second proviso to sub-section (1) of section 4 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 and in pursuance of rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006 , the Central Government hereby de-notifies an area of 03.25.29 hectares, thereby making resultant area as 19.45.53 hectares , comprising the survey numbers and the area given below in the table namely:- TABLE S.
