Appoints the Appellate, Madras also to hear appeals under Gold (Control) Act - 199 - Customs -Tariff

Notification No. 199 Dated 03/09/1981 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962) , the Central Government hereby appoints the Appellate *[Commissioner] of Central Excise, Madras, to be the ex officio Appellate *[Commissioner of Customs], Madras, within his respective jurisdiction, for the purposes of hearing appeals in Gold Control cases under clause (b) (ii) of sub-section (1) of section 80 of the Gold (Control) Act, 1968 (45 of 1968). ------------------------------------- * Designation changed vide s.50 of the Finance Act, 1995 (22 of 1995) and by Notification No. 29/99-Cus.
