SECURITIES AND EXCHANGE BOARD OF INDIA NOTIFICATION Mumbai, the 5th January, 1998 S.O.18{E).- In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (i) of section 30 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India Act, 1992 (15 of 1992), the Board hereby makes the following regulations to amend the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Depositories and Participants) Regulations, 1996. 1. These Regulations may be called the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Depositories and Participants) Amendment Regulations, 1998. 2. They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 3. In the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Depositories and Participants) Regulations, 1996 hereinafter referred to as the 'Regulations')- (a) (1) in regulation 6, a new clause (viii) after clause (vii) shall be added, namely :- (viii) the applicant is a fit and proper person. (2) in regulation 19, a new clause (cc) after clause (c)and before clause (d) shall be inserted, namely :- (cc) the applicant is a lit and proper person. [F.No. SEBI/LE/2303/98] D. R.
