Amendment to Notification No. 211/88-C.E. [Section 11C]

Notification No. 28/90-C.E. (N.T.)

Whereas the Central Government by its Notification No. 211/88-Central Excises, dated the 7th June, 1988 directed that the whole of the duty of excise payable under section 3 of the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 (1 of 1944) on gold of the description specified in the said notification shall not be required to be paid during the period commencing on the 1st March, 1986 and ending with the 20th Sep., 1986, in accordance with the practice that was generally prevalent during the said period;

And whereas the Central Government is satisfied that the said practice continued upto the 22nd October, 1986;

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 11C of the said Act, the Central Government hereby makes the following amendment in the said notification, namely :-

In the said notification for the words, figures and letters "ending with the 30th September, 1986", the words, figures and letters "ending with the 22nd October, 1986" shall be substituted.
