C.E. (11th Amendment) Rules, 1985 Notification No. 256/85-C.E. Dated 27-12-1985 In exercise of the powers conferred by section 37 of the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 (1 of 1944), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Central Excise Rules, 1944, namely :— 1. (1) These rules may be called the Central Excise (11th Amendment) Rules, 1985. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. In the Central Excise Rules, 1944, for rule 204, the following rule shall be substituted, namely :— "204. Issue of summons. — Every summons issued under the Act shall be in writing, in duplicate, and shall state the purpose for which it is issued, and shall be signed by the officer issuing it and shall also bear his official seal, if he has any"
