Baggage (Amendment) Rules, 1991 Notification No. 53/91-Cus. (N.T.) Dated 25-7-1991 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of section 79 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Baggage Rules, 1978, namely :- 1. (1) These rules may be called the Baggage (Amendment) Rules, 1991. (2) They shall come into force on the 25th day of July, 1991. 2. In the Baggage Rules, 1978, - (1) in rule 3, - (a) in clause (a), for the words, "five hundred", the words "six hundred" shall be substituted; (b) in clause (aa), (i) in sub-clause (i), for the figures "1200/-", the figures "1500/-" shall be substituted; (ii) in sub-clause (ii), for the figures "2000/-", the figures "2400/-" shall be substituted; (c) in clause (b), for the words "two thousand", the words "two thousand and four hundred" shall be substituted; (d) in the first proviso,- (1) in clause (i),- (i) in sub-clause (a) for the words "one hundred and twenty-five rupees", the words "one hundred and fifty rupees" shall be substituted; (ii) in sub-clause (aa), for the figures "300", the figures "400" and for the figures "500", the figures "600" shall be substituted; (iii) in sub-clause (b), for the words "five hundred rupees", the words "six hundred rupees" shall be substituted; (2) in clause (ii), for the words "fifty", the words "sixty" and for the words "fifteen", the words "twenty" shall be substituted; (3) in clause (iii), for the words "two hundred", the words "two hundred and fifty" and for the words "fifty", the words "sixty" shall be substituted; (e) in the second proviso, for the words "one thousand", the words "one thousand and two hundred" shall be substituted; (2) in rule 4, for the words "three thousand", the words "three thousand and six hundred" shall be substituted; (3) in rule 4A, in sub-rule (1) for the words "twenty thousand", the words "twenty-four thousand" shall be substituted; (4) in rule 5, for the words "five thousand", the words "six thousand" shall be substituted.
