Amendment to Notification No. 3/57-Cus.-G.E. No. 4 - 36/90 - Customs - Non Tariff

Amendment to Notification No. 3/57-Cus.-G.E. No. 4 Notification No. 36/90-Cus. (N.T.) Dated 27-7-1990 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 3/57-Customs, dated the 8th January, 1957, namely :- In the Table annexed to the said notification :- (a) against S. No. 1, in column (2), in item (i), for the words "Secretaries, Attaches and Advisors", the words "First Secretaries, Second Secretaries, Third Secretaries and Attaches" shall be substituted; (b) against S. No. 2, in column (2), the existing entry shall be renumbered as item (i) thereof and after item (i) as so renumbered, the following item shall be inserted, namely :- "(ii) One motor vehicle each imported by the officers of the Diplomatic Mission in India, other than those holding diplomatic status, for their personal use on their first arrival to take up appointments in India."; (c) against S. No. 3, in column (2), in item (i), for the words "Deputy Consuls, Vice-Consuls, Consular Agents, Attaches and Assistant Attaches," the words "and Vice-Consuls" shall be substituted; (d) against S. No. 4, in column (2), the existing entry shall be renumbered as item (i) thereof and after item (i) as so numbered, the following item shall be inserted, namely :- "(ii) One motor vehicle each imported by the officials of a Consulate of Foreign State, other than those holding diplomatic status (other than the Career Consular Officers mentioned in S. No. 3) for their personal use, on their first arrival to take up their appointments in India."; (e) against S. No. 4A, in column (2), the existing entry shall be renumbered as item (i) thereof and after item (i) as so renumbered, the following item shall be inserted, namely :- "(ii) One motor vehicle each imported by the officers of the Deputy High Commission in India, outside Delhi, other than those holding diplomatic statue, for their personal use on their first arrival to take up appointments in India."
