Baggage (Amendment) Rules, 1988 Notification No. 1/88-Cus. (N.T.) Dated 8-1-1988 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of section 79 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Baggage Rules, 1978 namely :- (1) These rules may be called the Baggage (Amendment) Rules 1988. (2) They shall come into force on the dated of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. In the Baggage Rules, 1978 (hereinafter referred to as the said rules), in the opening paragraph, for the words "any country other than Nepal", the words "any country other than Nepal or Bhutan" shall be substituted. 3. In rule 3 of the said rules, - (a) in clause (b), for the words "from a country other than Sri Lanka or Maldives or Nepal", the words "from a country other than Sri Lanka or Maldives or Nepal or Bhutan" shall be substituted; (b) In the proviso, - (i) in clause (i), in sub-clause (b), for the words "from a country other than Sri Lanka or Maldives or Nepal the words "from a country other than Sri Lanka or Maldives or Nepal or Bhutan" shall be substituted; (ii) in clause (iii), for the words "in a country other than Sri Lanka or Maldives or Nepal", the words "in a country other than Sri Lanka or Maldives or Nepal or Bhutan" shall be substituted.
