Amendments to 17 notifications Notification No. 151/93-Cus. Dated 21-7-1993 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby directs that each of the notifications of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), specified in column (2) of the Table hereto annexed, shall be amended or further amended, as the case may be, in the manner specified in the corresponding entry in column (3) of the said Table. TABLE S. No. Notification No. and Date Amendment (1) (2) (3) 1. No. 29/79-Cus-toms, dated the 10th February, 1979. In the said notification, for the portion beginning with the words, brackets and letter "from - (a) so much of that portion of the duty of customs", and ending with the words "of the said Customs Tariff Act.", the following shall be substituted, namely :- "from so much of that portion of the duty of customs leviable thereon which is specified in the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), as is in excess of fifty per cent ad valorem .". 2. No. 219/84-Cus-toms, dated the 10th August, 1984. In the said notification, for the portion beginning with the words, brackets and letter "paperboard making :- (a) from so much of that portion of the duty of customs", and ending with the words "second mentioned Act :", the following shall be substituted, namely :- "paperboard making from so much of that portion of the duty of customs leviable thereon which is specified in the said First Schedule as is in excess of the amount calculated at the rate of twenty per cent ad valorem .". 3 No. 224/85-Cus-toms, dated the 9th July, 1985. In the said notification, for the portion beginning with the words, brackets and letter "from - (a) so much of that portion of the duty of customs", and ending with the words "second mentioned Act.", the following shall be substituted, namely :- "from so much of that portion of the duty of customs leviable thereon which is specified in the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), as is in excess of the amount calculated at the rate of twenty five per cent ad valorem ". 4. No. 165/86-Cus-toms, dated the 1st March, 1986 In the said notification, for the portion beginning with the words, brackets and letter "from - (a) so much of that portion of the duty of customs", and ending with the words "of the said Customs Tariff Act.", the following shall be substituted, namely :- "from so much of that portion of the duty of customs leviable thereon which is specified in the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), as is in excess of the amount calculated at the rate of fifteen per cent ad valorem .". 5. No. 335/86-Cus-toms, dated the 5th June, 1986 In the said notification, for the portion beginning with the words, brackets and letter "from - (a) the whole of the duty of customs", and ending with the words "of the said Customs Tariff Act.", the following shall be substituted, namely :- "from the whole of the duty of customs leviable thereon which is specified in the said First Schedule.". 6 No. 20/88-Cus-toms, dated the 1st March, 1988 In the said notification, for the portion beginning with the words, brackets and letter "from - (a) so much of that portion of the duty of customs", and ending with the words "of the said Customs Tariff Act.", the following shall be substituted, namely :- "from so much of that portion of the duty of customs leviable thereon which is specified in the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), as is in excess of the amount calculated at the rate of fifty five per cent ad valorem ". 7. No. 65/88-Cus-toms, dated the 1st March, 1988. In the said notification, for the portion beginning with the words, brackets and letter "from - (a) so much of that portion of the duty of customs", and ending with the words "of the said Customs Tariff Act.", the following shall be substituted, namely :- "from so much of that portion of the duty of customs leviable thereon which is specified in the said First Schedule, as is in excess of the amount calculated at the rate of forty per cent ad valorem ". 8. No. 66/88-Cus-toms, dated the 1st March, 1988. In the said notification, for the portion beginning with the words, brackets and letter "from - (a) so much of that portion of the duty of customs", and ending with the words "of the said Customs Tariff Act.", the following shall be substituted, namely :- "from so much of that portion of the duty of customs leviable thereon under the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), as is in excess of the amount calculated at the rate of fifteen per cent ad valorem ". 9. No. 296/88-Cus-toms, dated the 1st November, 1988. In the said notification, for the portion beginning with the words, brackets and letter "from - (a) so much of that portion of the duty of customs", and ending with the words "of the said Customs Tariff Act.", the following shall be substituted, namely :- "from so much of that portion of the duty of customs leviable thereon which is specified in the said First Schedule as is in excess of the amount calculated at the rate of twenty-five per cent ad valorem .". 10. No. 97/89-Cus-toms, dated the 1st March, 1989. In the said notification, for the portion beginning with the words brackets and letter "from - (a) so much of that portion of the duty of customs", and ending with the words "of the said Customs Tariff Act.", the following shall be substituted, namely :- "from so much of that portion of the duty of customs leviable thereon which is specified in the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975) as is in excess of the amount calculated at the rate of forty per cent ad valorem .". 11. No. 98/89-Cus-toms, dated the 1st March, 1989 In the said notification for the portion beginning with the words, brackets and letter "from - (a) so much of that portion of the duty of customs", and ending with the words "of the said Customs Tariff Act.", the following shall be substituted, namely: "from so much of that portion of the duty of customs leviable thereon which is specified in the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975) as is in excess of the amount calculated at the rate of sixty five per cent ad valorem ." 12. No. 267/89-Cus-toms, dated the 1st November, 1989. In the said notification, for the portion beginning with the words, brackets and letter "from - (a) so much of that portion of the duty of customs", and ending with the words "of the said Customs Tariff Act.", the following shall be substituted, namely :- "from so much of that portion of the duty of customs leviable thereon which is specified in the said First Schedule, as is in excess of the amount calculated at the rate of forty five per cent ad valorem .". 13. No. 211/90-Cus-toms, dated the 16th July, 1990. In the said notification, for the portion beginning with the words, brackets and letter "from - (a) so much of that portion of the duty of customs", and ending with the words "of the said Customs Tariff Act", the following shall be substituted, namely:- "from so much of that portion of the duty of customs leviable thereon which is specified in the said First Schedule, as is in excess of the amount calculated at the rate of twenty five per cent ad valorem . ". 14. No. 262/90-Cus-toms, dated the 24th October, 1990 In the said notification, for the portion beginning with the words, brackets and letter "from - (a) so much of that portion of the duty of customs", and ending with the words "of the said Customs Tariff Act.", the following shall be substituted, namely :- "from so much of that portion of the duty of customs leviable thereon which is specified in the said First Schedule, as is in excess of the amount calculated at the rate of forty five per cent ad valorem . ". 15. No. 281/90-Cus-toms, dated the 15th December, 1990 In the said notification, for the portion beginning with the words, brackets and letter "from - (a) so much of that portion of duty of customs", and ending with the words "of the said Customs Tariff Act.", the following shall be substituted, namely :- "from so much of that portion of the duty of customs leviable thereon which is specified in the said First Schedule, as is in excess of the amount calculated at the rate of ten per cent ad valorem . ". 16. No. 282/90-Cus-toms, dated the 15th December, 1990. In the said notification, for the portion beginning with the words, brackets and letter "from - (a) so much of that portion of duty of customs", and ending with the words "of the said Customs Tariff Act.", the following shall be substituted, namely :- "from so much of that portion of the duty of customs leviable thereon which is specified in the said First Schedule, as is in excess of the amount calculated at the rate of twenty five per cent ad valorem . ". 17. No. 40/92-Cus-toms, dated the 1st March, 1992 In the said notification, for the portion beginning with the words, brackets and letter "from - (a) so much of the duty of customs", and ending with the words "of the said Customs Tariff Act.", the following shall be substituted, namely :- "from so much of the duty of customs leviable thereon, which is specified in the said First Schedule, as is in excess of the amount calculated at the rate of twenty per cent ad valorem . ".
