Exemption to Raw Materials and Components for Manufacture of Aircrafts for Training Purposes - 006/92 - Customs -TariffExtract Exemption to Raw Materials and Components for Manufacture of Aircrafts for Training Purposes Notification No. 6/92-Cus. Dated 2-1-1992 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby exempts raw materials and components (hereinafter referred to as the said goods) required for the manufacture of aircrafts to be used for training purposes when imported into India, from - (a) so much of that portion of the duty of customs leviable thereon, which is specified in the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975) as is in excess of the amount calculated at the rate of 10% ad valorem; and (b) the whole of the additional duty leviable thereon under section 3 of the said Customs Tariff Act: Provided that the importer at the time of import produces before the Assistant Collector of Customs — (1) a recommendation from an officer not below the rank of a Director in the Office of Director General of Civil Aviation for grant of exemption under this notification; (2) a certificate from an officer not below the rank of a Director in the aforesaid office to the effect that the said goods are meant for the manufacture of aircrafts to be used for training purposes; and (3) the importer gives an undertaking to the effect that the said goods shall be used for the purpose for which they were imported within two years from the date of importation and in the event of his failure to comply with the same, he shall pay on demand an amount equal to the difference between the duty leviable on such goods but for the exemption contained therein and that already paid at the time of importation.
