Fertilisers and chemicals Notification No. 49/86-Cus. Dated 17-2-1986 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby exempts goods specified in the Table below and falling within Chapter 31 of the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), when imported into India, from the whole of the duty of customs leviable thereon which is specified in the said First Schedule. TABLE 1. Guano and other natural animal or vegetable fertilizers, whether or not mixed together, but not chemically treated. 2. Sodium nitrate containing not more than 16.3% by weight of nitrogen. 3. Potassium sulphate containing not more than 52% by weight of composite fertilizers. 2. This notification shall come into force on the 28th day of February, 1986.
