Setting up a Sector Specific SEZ for engineering products at Village Hazira, Taluka Choryasi - Gujarat - De-notification of certain area notified notification number S.O. 1628(E) dated 28th September, 2006 MINSTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (Department of Commerce) NOTIFICATION New Delhi , the 6th October, 2010 S.O. 2444(E).- Whereas, M/s. Essar SEZ Hazira Limited, a private organization in the State of Gujarat, had proposed under Section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005), (hereinafter referred to as the said Act ), to set up a sector specific Special Economic Zone for engineering products at Village Hazira, Taluka Choryasi the State of Gujarat; And whereas, the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 4 of the said Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006 , had notified an area of 247.5222 hectares vide the Ministry of Commerce and Industry notification number S.O. 1628(E) dated 28th September, 2006 and had de-notified areas of 40.1538 hectares and 28.8410 hectares to make resultant area as 178.5874 hectares vide notification number S.O. 937(E) dated 22nd April, 2010; And whereas Essar SEZ Hazira Limited has proposed to de-notify the entire remaining area of 178.5874 hectares of the above Special Economic Zone and the Central Government has granted letter of approval for denotification of above area on 15th July, 2009 And whereas the Central Government is satisfied that the requirements under sub-section (8) of Section 3 of the Act and other related requirements are fulfilled and it has granted letter of approval under sub-section (10) of Section 3 of the Act for de-notification of 10 hectares from UK notified Special Economic Zone for Handicraft sector on 30th June, 2009; Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by second proviso to sub-section (1) of Section 4 of the Special Economic Zone Act, 2005 and in pursuance of the rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules. 2006 , the Central Government hereby rescinds the above notification expect as respects thing done or omitted to be done before such rescission.
