[PUBLISHED IN THE GAZETTE OF INDIA, EXTRAORDINARY PART - II, SECTION 3, SUB-SECTION (ii)] GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF CORPORATE AFFAIRS Notification New Delhi, the 25 th June, 2010 Subject:- Powers delegated under section 240(1)(a), 240(1A), 240(2)(b) and 240(3)(b) to the Director, Serious Fraud Investigation Office S.O. 1548(E).- In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 637 of the Companies Act, 1956, the Central Government hereby delegates its powers under clause (a) of sub-section (1) of section 240, sub-section (1A) of section 240, clause (b) of sub-section (2) of section 240 and sub-section (3) of section 240 of the Companies Act, 1956, to the Director, Serious Fraud Investigation Office only in respect of those cases wherein the Central Government appoints officers of Serious Fraud Investigation Office as inspectors, to investigate into the affairs of a company under section 235 or section 237 of the Companies Act, 1956.
