Rescinds the sector specific Special Economic Zone for electronic hardware and software at Mouza-Banagram and Sarmasterchowk, District South 24 Parganas (South) in the State of West Bengal. - S.O. 2308(E) - Special Economic Zone

NOTIFICATION NO. S.O. 2308(E), DATED 5-10-2011 S.O. 2308(E),- WHEREAS, M/s. Oval Developers Private Limited had proposed under section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005) , (hereinafter referred to as the said Act) to set up a sector specific Special Economic Zone for electronic hardware and software at Mouza-Banagram and Sarmasterchowk, District South 24 Parganas (South) in the State of West Bengal; AND, WHEREAS, the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 4 of the said Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zone Rules, 2006, had notified an area of 11.78 hectares at above location as Special Economic Zone vide Ministry of Commerce and Industry Notification Number S.O. 1977(E), dated 22nd November, 2007; AND, WHEREAS, M/s. Oval Developers Private Limited has proposed to denotify the entire area of 11.78 hectares of the above Special Economic Zone and the Central Government has granted letter of approval for denotification of above area on 8th August, 2011; NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by first proviso to rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006 , the Central Government hereby rescinds the above notification except as respects things done or omitted to be done before such rescission.
