Central Excise Rules — 4th Amendment of 1998 Notification No. 8/99-C.E.(N.T.) Dated 10-2-1999 In exercise of the powers conferred by section 37 of the Central Excise Act, 1944 (1 of 1944), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Central Excise Rules, 1944, namely :- 1. (1) These rules may be called the Central Excise (Fourth Amendment) Rules, 1999. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. In the Central Excise Rules, 1944,- (i) in rule 100G, in the second proviso, for the figure and letters "5.00 P.M.", the figure and letters "11.00 A.M." shall be substituted; (ii) in rule 224,- (a) in sub-rule (2), in the second proviso, for the figure and letters "5.00 P.M.", the figure and letters "11.00 A.M." shall be substituted; (b) in sub-rule (2A), for the figure and letters "5.00 P.M.", the figure and letters "11.00 A.M." shall be substituted.
