Contribution of States in Exports |

Press Information Bureau Government of India Ministry of Commerce & Industry 19-December, 2012 16:49 IST In 2011-12 Karnataka, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Haryana under ONER (other than NER) Category and Manipur, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura in NER Category are the states which have significantly contributed to India’s exports. The share of Jharkhand is 0.18 % of India’s total exports. Department of Commerce have shared “best practices” under ASIDE and findings of several studies regarding export infrastructure bottlenecks in country. The State Level Export Promotion Committee (SLEPC) under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary of the State is overseeing the implementation of ASIDE scheme in Jharkhand. A Nodal Officer at the level of Joint Secretary in Department of Commerce is advising and monitoring the implementation of ASIDE in Jharkhand. Regional level meetings were also held for appraisal of the revised ASIDE scheme. A web enabled monitoring system (WEMS) is used for regular monitoring by all stake holders. A total of Rs.24.22 Cr. has been released for seven different State projects in Jharkhand under the ASIDE Scheme during last ten years. This information was given by the Minister of State for Commerce & Industry Dr. D. Purandeswari in written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha today.
