Suggestions / Comments
As per para 4.49 & 4.50 of HBP, in the event of bonafide default, importers are allowed suo motu payment of duty with applicable interest on self/own calculation basis. However, still customs is asking a DL (Deficiency Letter) from RA of DGFT which is practically not happening immediately. By that time, customs may start the revenue recovery process. Paragraph 7 of the PN seems to be inconsistent and needs more clarity to solve the issue.
