A private limited company has IE Code and also registered under Central Excise as a dealer. The company imports Plastic granules which neither come under Prohibited or Restricted list in terms of Foreign Trade Policy 2009 to 2014. Now my querry is in addition to obtaining IE Code from DGFT should we to take import licence from Central Excise authorities. Pl enlighten Posts / Replies Showing Replies 1 to 3 of 3 Records Page: 1
Sir Import licence is not granted by central excise authorities. It is granted by DGFT. Since you have mentioned that Plastic granules is neither come under Prohibited or Restricted list in terms of Foreign Trade Policy 2009 to 2014 no import licence is required since plastic granules are freely importable.
Plastic granules comes under customs tariff of 39 and imports can be done under OGL. One can stock and sale or for self consumption.
Dear Gopalarathnam, Well, we have gone through you query, we understand from the above that you are talking about the 'END USE Bond'. If you have imported the Plastic Granules on concessional rate of duty, then, you would have to get a certificate from the Central Excise Department on the usage of plastic granules in manufacturing of finished goods. Please discuss with us if we had correctly understood your query. We remain.
