EA - 2000 ADUT QUARY , Central Excise

R/SIR, Today EA-2000 audit continue last 15 days , my question is that there is timelimit for audit done by Excise auditor ? Is Audit superitendent ask all past year records for scrutiny ? We had recd clear audit report for past audit & pending audit is only period ( Sept-2009 to oct-2010 ). Pl.Suggest SNEHAL SHAH

Normally the date of audit are in coninuation with the last audit.

If your period coved during last audit was Apr 08-Mar-09, then the audit will conducted for the Period Apr-09 to Mar 10. They wont prefer to audit the last audit done by the department.

But for any dispute raised during the audit period, then they may ask to pay the demand for last Five Year.

CERA can audit for any period as they ask but not beyond 5 yr
