Government authorizes GST intelligence agency to enforce IT Rules on digital platforms.

The government has appointed the Additional/Joint Director (Intelligence) of the Directorate General of GST Intelligence Headquarters as the nodal officer to enforce the Information Technology (Guidelines for Intermediaries and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021. This designation is under Section 14A(3) of the Integrated Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, in accordance with Section 79(3)(b) of the Information Technology Act, 2000.
