Conclusion - In view of the compromise arrived at between the parties and considering the petition under Section 147 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, the offence under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act is compounded. The conviction and sentence imposed upon the petitioners confirming the judgment is set aside and the revision petitioners are acquitted of the offence under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act - Criminal Revision Case is allowed.

After trial, the Hon'ble Trial Court convicted the petitioners vide Order dated 20.01.2023, sentencing them to undergo six months Simple Imprisonment and to pay a fine of Rs.2,65,000/-, being the value of the cheque, and on default, to further undergo one month Simple Imprisonment. 2. The conviction and sentence imposed upon the petitioners vide judgment dated 19.12.2023 made in Crl.A.No.26 of 2023 on the file of the learned I Additional District and Sessions Judge, Namakkal, confirming the judgment dated 20.01.2023 made in S.T.C.No.94 of 2021 on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate, Paramathy, is set aside and the revision petitioners are acquitted of the offence under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act. Consequently, the connected Criminal Miscellaneous Petitions are closed.
