Protective duty levy provision scrapped as Tariff Commission defunct. Effective from Finance Bill 2024 enactment.

Section 6 of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975, enabling levy of protective duties on recommendations of Tariff Commission, is being omitted as the Commission was wound up in June 2022. This change will be effective from the enactment date of Finance (No. 2) Bill, 2024.
