New special courts in Ernakulam & Kozhikode designated to try money laundering cases under PMLA in Kerala districts.

This notification amends the previous notification S.O. 372(E) dated 5th February 2016, regarding the designation and jurisdiction of Special Courts under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 (PMLA) in Kerala. It inserts two new entries for Kerala in the table, designating the Additional District and Sessions Court-I in Ernakulam to try PMLA offenses for Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Idukki, Kottayam, and Ernakulam districts. It also designates the Additional Sessions Court (Marad cases) in Kozhikode to try such offenses for Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod districts. The notification is issued by the Ministry of Finance u/s 43 of the PMLA in consultation with the Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court.
