Summary

The duty demand of Rs. 2,21,219/- confirmed against the appellants was set aside by CESTAT Chennai. The duty rate was the merit rate without exemption on reimportation of Anoraks. The Superintendent of Customs certified that the goods reimported were re-exported to Germany and France, allowing the benefit of notification claimed by the assessees. The appeal was allowed on 3-8-2009.
