2022 (12) TMI 1443 - SCH - Money LaunderingSeeking release on bail - HELD THAT - Once the investigation is complete the petitioner shall be at liberty to approach the Trial Court for his release on bail and such a petition shall be considered as per its own merit without being influenced by the orders passed by the High Court or this Court. Bail Application: The Supreme Court, comprising of Hon'ble Mr. Justice Surya Kant and Hon'ble Mr. Justice J.K. Maheshwari, heard the arguments of the petitioner's Senior Counsel and the Additional Solicitor General representing the respondent. The Court decided not to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage to avoid interfering with the ongoing investigation process. Ongoing Investigation: The Court directed that once the investigation is completed, the petitioner can approach the Trial Court for bail. The Trial Court will independently consider the bail petition on its merit without being influenced by any previous orders from the High Court or the Supreme Court. Expediting Investigation Process: Furthermore, the respondent was instructed by the Court to expedite the ongoing investigation and strive to conclude it within a period of three months. The Special Leave Petition was disposed of with these directives, leading to the disposal of any pending interlocutory applications as well.
