The High Court of Judicature at Madras quashed show cause notices issued under Section 11-A of the Central Excises and Salt Act, regarding duty payment after disallowing cash discounts, based on a previous court decision. The Central Government Standing Counsel confirmed the decision and the writ petitions were allowed with no costs.
