1999 (7) TMI 82 - HC - Central Excise

The petitioner challenged an order for pre-deposit of Rs. 22 lacs under the Central Excise Act. The High Court modified the order, reducing the pre-deposit amount to Rs. 5 lacs to enable the petitioner to contest the appeal on merits. The writ petition was allowed.
