2000 (1) TMI 651 - AT - Central Excise

The delay of 14 days in filing the appeal was condoned due to the illness of the applicant's manager. An amount of Rs. 10,00,131/- was demanded for taking Modvat credit based on documents from an unregistered dealer. The applicant was asked to deposit Rs. 5.00 lacs within a month to stay the recovery of the remaining duty amount.
