CHAPTER V MISCELLANEOUS 69. Amendment of Act 2 of 1899.- In the Indian Stamp Act, 1899,- (a) in section 9, in sub-section (2), in clause (a), for the words "Seventh Schedule to the Constitution", the words, brackets, letter and figure "Seventh Schedule to the Constitution, except the subject matters referred to in clause (b) of sub- section (1)" shall be substituted; (b) in section 35, in clause (a), in the proviso, for the words "not being an instrument chargeable with a duty not exceeding ten naye paise only, or a bill of exchange or promissory note, shall, subject to all just exceptions,", the word "shall" shall be substituted.
