Rule 1 - rules for granting special passes - Rules for granting special passes to break bulk in the Customs ports in the States of Mysore and KeralaExtract [C.B.R. Notification No. 126-Cus., dated 9th September, 1950 as amended by Notification No. 166-Cus., dated 17th May, 1958 .] In exercise of the powers conferred by section 59 of the Sea Customs Act, 1878 (8 of 1878), the Central Board of Revenue hereby makes the following rules for granting special passes to break bulk in the Customs ports in the States of Mysore and Kerala, namely :— (1) A special pass may be granted on application in writing on a paper stamped with the proper court-fee stamp, and such application may be received before the arrival of the vessel for which the pass is required. (2) In the case of steamers and square-rigged vessels discharging in a dock, the goods in respect of which a special pass has been obtained shall be deposited in a separate shed or portion of a shed; and in the case of such vessels discharging in the stream, the said goods shall be stacked on the wharf in such manner as the Customs Officer on duty may direct in order to prevent their being mixed with other goods. In neither case shall the goods be removed from the place of deposit until manifest and bills of entry have been put in.
