Rule 1 - Short title and commencement - Foreign Exchange Management (Overseas Investment) Rules, 2022

MINISTRY OF FINANCE (Department of Economic Affairs) NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 22nd August, 2022 G.S.R. 646(E). -In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) and clauses (aa) and (ab) of sub-section (2) of section 46 and sub-section (3) of section 47 of the Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999 (42 of 1999) and in supersession of the Foreign Exchange Management (Transfer or Issue of Any Foreign Security) Regulations, 2004 and the Foreign Exchange Management (Acquisition and Transfer of Immovable Property Outside India) Regulations, 2015 , except as respects things done or omitted to be done before such supersession, the Central Government hereby makes the following rules, namely: 1. Short title and commencement. (1) These rules may be called the Foreign Exchange Management (Overseas Investment) Rules, 2022. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
