Customs Extends Sea Cargo Manifest Electronic Filing Deadline to May 2025, Offering Penalty-Free Transition Period for Stakeholders

April 5, 2025

Circulars     Customs

The Customs authority extended the transitional provisions for Sea Cargo Manifest and Transhipment Regulations (SCMTR) until 31.05.2025. The extension allows stakeholders additional time to electronically file cargo declarations without incurring penalties. Carriers, shipping lines, and freight forwarders are encouraged to comply with SCMTR requirements, with JNCH officers instructed to avoid penal actions during this interim period. Stakeholders are advised to utilize this facilitation measure to test and implement electronic filing systems, with support available through weekly outreach programs and helpdesk communication channels.
