Section 1 - Short title and commencement - Taxation Laws (Amendment) Act, 1975Extract MINISTRY OF LAW, JUSTICE AND COMPANY AFFAIRS (Legislative Department) New Delhi the 7th August, 1975/Sravana 16, 1897 (Saka) The following Act of Parliament received the assent of the President on the 7th August, 1975, and is hereby published for general information: THE TAXATION LAWS (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1975 No. 41 OF 1975 [7th August, 1975] An Act further to amend the Income-tax Act, 1961, the Wealth-tax Act, 1957, the Gift-tax Act, 1958 and the Companies (Profits) Surtax Act, 1964. BE it enacted by Parliament in the Twenty-sixth Year of the Republic of India as follows: CHAPTER I PRELIMINARY 1. Short title and commencement. (1) This Act may be called the Taxation Laws (Amendment) Act, 1975. (2) It shall come into force on such dale as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint and different dates may be appointed for different provisions of this Act; and any reference to the commencement of the Taxation Laws (Amendment) Act, 1975 in any amendment made by any provision of this Act shall be construed as a reference to the coming into force of that provision.
