CHAPTER VII AMENDMENTS TO THE INTEREST-TAX ACT, 1974 82. Amendment of section 17. In section 17 of the Interest-tax Act, 1974 (45 of 1974) (hereafter in this Chapter referred to as the Interest-tax Act), in sub-section (1), for the words within four years of the date on which such order was passed , the words within four years from the end of the financial year in which such order was passed shall be substituted with effect from the 1st day of October, 1984.
