Article 30 - Termination - Malta (Old - Effective upto 1-4-2015)Extract Article 30 - Termination - This Agreement shall remain in force until terminated by a Contracting State. Either Contracting State may terminate the Agreement, through diplomatic channels, by giving notice of termination at least six months before the end of any calendar year beginning after the expiration of a period of five years from the date of its entry into force. In such event, the Agreement shall cease to have effect : (a) in India : as regards income for any fiscal year beginning on or after the first day of April of the calendar year next following that in which the notice of termination is given ; (b) in Malta : as regards income for any fiscal year beginning on or after the first day of January of the calendar year next following that in which the notice of termination is given. In witness whereof the undersigned, being duly authorised thereto by their respective Governments, have signed this Agreement. Done at Valetta, Malta this twenty-eighth day of September, 1994, in duplicate in the English and Hindi languages, both texts being equally authentic. In case of divergence between the two texts the English text shall be the operative one.
