INSTRUCTION NO. 656/CBDT Dated : January 25, 1974 In the context of the observations made by the Public Accounts Committee it is very necessary that the old appeals pending with the A.A.Cs. and revision petitions pending with Commissioners/Addl. Commissioners are given due priority and their disposal ensured. The Committee's observation that there should be no accumulation for more than a period of 3 years in pendency of appeals to the A.A.Cs requires particular attention. The A.A.Cs should now dispose of all pending old appeals, keeping in view the above observation of the P.A.C.
