INSTRUCTION NO. 671/CBDT Dated : March 23, 1974 Section(s) Referred: 230A Statute: Income - Tax Act, 1961 Lease agreement for period of less than one year will not require registration and consequently a certificate u/s 230-A of the Income-tax Act, 1961, will not be required in such a case. Other leases for a period of more than one year will not be exempt from registration and will therefore require certificates u/s 230-A of the Act.
