Instruction No: 766/CBDT Date of Issue: 3/10/1974 Reference is invited to Board's Instruction No. 566 dated 15th July, 1973 on the above subject, by which the Commissioners were requested to centralise cases of the directors and senior executives of important companies to the I.T. Officers having jurisdiction over the cases of companies. Where it was not possible to assign the cases of directors and senior executives of all the companies for administrative reasons, such centralisation was required to be done at least in respect of one-third of the companies by rotation each year. 2. After the receipt of the above referred instructions, the Commissioners of Income-tax informed the Board that steps are being taken to centralise the cases of directors and senior executives of the companies. Since more than a year has passed from the issue of the instruction, you are requested to send a report giving the number of the cases of directors and the senior executives which were assigned to the I.T.Os assessing the companies in the financial years 1973-74 and 1974-75 separately. Number of cases remaining to be assigned may also kindly be indicated. Your report may please be sent so as to reach the Board on or before 1st November, 1974.
