Constitution of Regional Advisory Committee (Organised, Small Scale Service Tax sectors) of Cochin Central Excise Zone for the year 2012-13 TRADE NOTICE NO. 1/2012 [File C.No.IV/16/323/2011 CC(KZ) II], dated 7-6-2012 The Regional Advisory Committee for the Organised/SSI/Service Tax sectors of Cochin Zone has been constituted for the block year 2012-13 with the following members. The Chief Commissioner of Customs, Central Excise Service Tax, Cochin Zone will be the Ex-Officio Chairman and Sh. K. Sundareswara Iyer will be the Vice Chairman of the Committee and the Additional Commissioner (CCO) will be the Ex-Officio Secretary of the Committee. 3. Any member of the Regional Advisory Committee who is continuously absent from three meetings (without adequate reasons) will be deemed to have withdrawn from the Committee and his place will be filled up by fresh nominations. 4. Functions :- The functions of the Regional Advisory Committee will be purely of advisory nature and the Committee is intended for resolving procedural difficulties of a general nature. The Committee may however discuss any matter including policy behind individual cases, but exclude individual cases themselves as also judicial and semi-judicial work. 5. Life Period of Committee :- The Committee will be constituted for a period of 2 calendar years and accordingly the term of office of each member nominated to such a Committee will be two years. 6. TA/DA :- TA/DA admissible to members of the Committee will be regulated in accordance with the order in force. 7 . Meeting of the Committee :- The Committee shall meet once in 3 months i.e., at 11 a.m on Friday of the third week of each quarter viz. March, June, September and December or as the Chairman may decide. Date and time will be intimated as and when the meeting is fixed. The venue of the meeting will be at Conference Hall of the Chief Commissioner's Office, Customs Central Excise, C.R. Building, I. S. Press Road, Cochin or at any of the Commissionerate Headquarters as the Chairman may decide. 8. All the correspondence meant for the Committee is to be addressed to the following :- The Additional Commissioner (CCO) Customs, Central Excise Service Tax C.R. Building, I.S. Press Road, Cochin-18 9 . The manufacturers and exporters of excisable commodities and Service Tax assessees are advised to place their problems and difficulties of general nature, if any, before the Committee through any of the above members of the Committee at least two weeks in advance from the date of the Committee meeting. 10 . All the members of the newly constituted Regional Advisory Committee shown in para 1 above may please acknowledge the receipt of this communication including their willingness to serve in the Committee and also send 2 copies of their recent passport size photographs.
