Revised format for monthly technical report - Central Excise - 390/23/98Extract Revised format for monthly technical report Circular No. 390/23/98-CX dated 6/5/1998 Keeping in view the utility of the information received from Commissioners, as also the need for varied data required in the Ministry, the Board has revised, in consultation with DGICCE, the format in which Monthly Technical Report is being sent by the Central, Excise Commissioners presently. It is reiterated that timely submission of the MTR in a complete and correct manner is essential in order for it to be compiled and put to effective use in the Ministry. All Commissioners may take due note of this and convey the same to the Divisional levels. W.e.f. April, 1998, the MTR is required to be submitted in the revised proforma, a copy of which is enclosed. It may be noted that the MTR should be signed only by the concerned Commissioner of Central Excise and must be sent regularly and well in time i.e. latest by 10th of the following month. Further, no column should be left blank, and in particular, attention may be given to the column "Reasons for pendency", which should be filled in. 2. Henceforth, as per the decision of the Board, the MTR format will not have a Revenue Analysis Report. It has been decided that this shall be delinked from MTR. Any statement on Revenue will henceforth be asked for and communicated directly to TRU. 3. The procedure of assigning marks/grades/ranking to the Commissioners (F.No. 288/1/90- CX.9 dt. 8.3.90) will be dispensed with, henceforth this may not be included, in the revised proforma to the MTR. 4. Part-A of the proposed format will deal with the pendency position of various items of work. It is imperative that all columns are meticulously filled in, to facilitate compilation of data from 60 Commissionerates. 5. The Action Taken Report (part-B) shall be prepared by the Chief Commissioner. This would be a consolidated report for the Commissionerates in the zone, to be sent to the Board's Office directly by the 10th of the following month, with a copy to DGI. 6. You may like to bring this to the notice of your Additional Commissioners/Dy. Commissioners and Assistant Commissioners in-charge of the Divisions for showing better performance. This supersedes all earlier instructions on the subject. F.No. 288/51/97-CX:9
