OF TRADE AND TAXES (POLICY-III BRANCH) BIKRI KAR BHAWAN, I.P. ESTATE, NEW DELHI-110002 CIRCULAR No 27 of 2005-06 Dated: 22.08.2005 In continuation of department's efforts of making the VAT regime more and more facilitative for the business community, it has been decided to further reduce the time for granting registration certificate to the applicant dealers, bringing it down to 5 days instead of usual 15 days as provided in the DVAT Act and Rules. Provided the applicant for DVAT registration furnishes the requisite security in the form of bank guarantee or demand draft in favour of the Commissioner, VAT or cash supported by challan in form DVAT-20 duly signed and stamped by appropriate Government treasury as proof of deposit of the security amount and his/her application form is otherwise complete in all respects, the department shall grant registration within 5 days from the date of receipt of application in the Front Office of the department, if nothing adverse is observed while processing the application. All the officers concerned from the Front Office and Operations are required to ensure the issue of Registration Certificate to the eligible applicant dealer within the prescribed time as mentioned above, subject to fulfillment of the conditions mentioned.
