DEPB rates PUBLIC NOTICE No. 52(RE-99) / 1997-2002 Dated 1st March, 2000 In exercise of powers conferred under paragraph 4.11 of the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002, as notified in the Gazette of India extraordinary, Part-II-Section 3-Sub-section (ii) vide S.O. No. 283(E) dated 31.3.97, the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby makes the following amendment in the Handbook of Procedures (Vol.1) (RE-99), 1997-2002. 2. The following amendments may be made in Appendix-28A. (i) Under Product Group: Engineering (product Code 61), following new entries may be added after S.No.586:- S. No Description DEPB rate Value cap for DEPB entitlement 588 Identifiable ready to use machined parts / components made wholly or predominantly of Carbon Steel / Non Alloy Steel (not less than 90% by weight) manufactured through forging process, not elsewhere specified 12% 589 Identifiable ready to use machined parts / components made wholly, or predominantly of Alloy steel / Stainless Steel (not less than 90% by weight) manufactured through forging process, not elsewhere specified 12% 590 Identifiable ready to use machined parts / components made wholly or predominantly of Iron (not less than 90% by weight) manufactured through casting process, not elsewhere specified 7% 591 Identifiable ready to use machined parts / components made wholly or predominantly of Carbon Steel / Non Alloy Steel (not less than 90% by weight) manufactured through casting process, not elsewhere specified. 8% 592 Identifiable ready to use machined parts / components made wholly or predominantly of alloy steel (other than Stainless Steel)(not less than 90% by weight) manufactured through casting process, not elsewhere specified. 8% 593 Identifiable ready to use machined parts / components made wholly or predominantly of Stainless Steel (not less than 90% by weight) manufactured through casting process, not elsewhere specified. 13% 594 Brake Drums made of Alloy Cast Iron 12% (ii) Under Product Group: Engineering (product Code 61), the DEPB rate mentioned in column 3 against export product at S.No. 91 and 363 may be amended to read as 19% for both product. (iii) Under Product Group Textiles: (Product Code-89), the following amendments may be made; (a) The existing entry at S.No.11 may be deleted and the description of export product at S.No. 10 may be amended to read as:- Cotton Socks / Stockings (Knitted) (b) The following new entry may be created at S.No. 68(d): S. No. Description DEPB rate Value cap for DEPB entitlement 68(d) "Article of Hosiery / Knitwear made of woolen blended yarn (synthetic content in the blended yarn below 35%)" 7% (c) The description of export product at S.No. 44(a) may be amended to read as follows: "Dyed and / or printed manmade - cotton blended fabric 'with or without embroidery' and / or 'with or without metallised yarn' (manmade content not less than 50% by weight)" (d). The description of export product at S.No.73 may be amended to read as under: "Dyed Finished Flax blended fabrics (containing polyester / viscose / cotton / flax) Note: The export product must contain Flax and one or more of other inputs i.e. polyesterlviscosel cotton" (iv) Under Product Group: Chemical (Product Code-62), the following amendments may be made: (a) The entry at S.No. 917 stands deleted. The export product at S.No.493 and 917 may be clubbed together at S.No.493 with following description and DEPB rate: S. No. Description DEPB rate Value cap 493 Paper such as Cyclostyling paper, Typing paper, Xerox paper,Copier paper, Full scape ruled / Unruled paper, Plain paper, Drawing sheets, etc / MG poster paper /Manila Board / Writing Paper / Colour Printing Paper / NP Printing Paper 8% (v) Under Product Group: Plastics (Product Code 63), the following amendments may be made:- (a) The description of export product at S.No.1 21 may be amended to road as:- "Polyurethane Resin Solution containing 66% Resin in Ethyl Acetate Solvent / Methyl Ethyl Ketone Solvent." (b) The following entry shall be added at S.No.144 with the following description and DEPB rate: S. No. Description DEPB rate Value cap 144 Poly propylene- (Home Polymer) 11% (vi) Under the general instruction at the beginning of Appendix 28A, the following may be added after S.No.6:- 7. Portable Products at S.No.266, 267, 268, 269, 270 and 3,16 of Product Group: Engineering (Product Code-61) exported in the form of incomplete CKD / SKD Kit, but consisting of (i) Engine (ii) Chasis (iii) Gear Box (iv) Transmission Assembly System (v) Axle (Front Rear) and (vi) Suspension System or Body / Cab or both shall be treated at par with complete CKD / SKD Kit for the purpose of relevant DPEB benefits.
